VACATIONING FAMILIES TRAVEL TO THE HOMESTEAD
Some of the most beautiful and historical resorts in the United States are on the East Coast and offer vacationing families a little bit of history while providing the members of the family with luxurious accommodations. These resorts are among favorites for families who want to enjoy the great outdoors while being spoiled and pampered indoors. Families return for annual vacations and find that the resorts remain seemingly unchanged year after year. Hot Springs, Virginia has been home to one of the most prestigious resorts in the United States since the resort’s humble beginnings in 1766. The Homestead Resort has been fortunate enough to have served some of the greatest Presidents of the United States and has played host to many princesses and princes as well as highly acclaimed authors and actors. Some of the past guests of the Homestead Resort include: Ronald Reagan, William (Bill) Clinton, Lyndon B. Johnson, James Madison and Thomas Jefferson. The list could go on with recognizable figures but then you wouldn’t know much about this stately resort. Vacationing families have been visiting The Homestead Resort since soon after its opening in 1766 and while the structures have been vastly improved with modern conveniences, it is one resort where so many would agree that though things change, everything stays the same. The resort is full of heritage and history and seemingly engulfs all of the families who visit. The affluent guests of The Homestead became accustomed to the all-inclusive packages of the resort in its glory days and things haven’t changed much since then. Rates begin at $165 per person per night and include breakfast and dinner, afternoon tea along with movies daily and beautifully appointed guest accommodations. The resort offers some of the best-rounded activities indoors and outdoors. Families vacationing at The Homestead seldom grow tired of the three golf courses, tennis courts, paintball facilities, and all of the lawn games (such as croquet) typical of an extravagant resort of days gone by. The staff will even set up your lawn games for you. Families on vacation at The Homestead still find they can rub shoulders with highly successful people in a resort still coveted by the affluent families which are very much keen on the idea of the higher rates which The Homestead charges. Still, though the money flows freely at The Homestead, it has a very Palm Beach aloofness to it. Families such as the Vanderbilt heirs have been coming to The Homestead for years. It is an old money resort and new money isn’t easily accepted into a resort where many of the families vacationing there have known one another for centuries.
